Youth Protection Program
Creating safe spaces for future Sun Devils
ASU is committed to providing safe environments for all youth participating in university-run or affiliated activities on and off campus — in person or virtual.
The university has established mandatory youth protection protocols and reporting responsibilities based on state and federal law.
Protection of Minors policy
The Protection of Minors policy outlines requirements for programs and individuals interacting with minors in university-affiliated activities, including:
- University programs or activities with minors in the care, custody or control of the university, regardless of the program's geographic location or activity.
- Any individual who interacts with minors in connection with a youth activity.
- Programs, activities or events with minor participants held on university-owned or managed premises.
All youth-related activities must follow the Protection of Minors policy.
ASU units or departments planning youth activities must visit the ASU youth activities webpage to review the requirements for hosting youth activities.
Third parties, non-university individuals or entities, using university facilities to host events involving minors must visit the Third-party activities webpage to review the standards for external youth programs.
