Staff can work with requesting parties to develop a curriculum on topics outside the list above.

Classes may be taught by subject matter experts, certified trainers or qualified personnel that may or may not be sworn peace officers.

Self-defense

The ASU PD provides free Rape Aggression Defense Systems self-defense courses for any ASU community member.

These self-defense courses are part of ASU’s efforts to reduce sexual violence on ASU campuses and surrounding communities.

The R.A.D. course is divided into three, four-hour classes focused on self-defense training. You must attend all class hours to receive your certification.

Citizens Police Academy

Citizens Academy is designed to give students, faculty, and staff hands-on experience on topics like DUI traffic stops, K-9 demonstrations, crime scene investigations and more.

Physical security assessments

A physical security assessment evaluates existing or planned security measures that protect assets from threats and identifies improvements when deemed necessary. A certified assessor will meet with you and/or your leadership team to look at your facility and will provide a report with suggestions to mitigate crimes of violence and property crimes.
