Organizational Excellence Community of Practice
Organizational Excellence Community of Practice
Established in 2017 under the umbrella of ASU’s Organizational Performance Office, the Organizational Excellence Community of Practice is a vibrant community dedicated to advancing organizational excellence throughout the university.
OECoP aligns with ASU's charter and cultivates success by championing excellence through a blend of social, cultural, and learning opportunities, which include:
- In-person and virtual networking events.
- One Hour to Skill Mastery.
- TED Circles.
- The Book Club.
- The OECoP Speaker Series.
The Speaker Series is a robust and dedicated platform highlighting a distinct business-related topic to promote organizational excellence during each of the three annual events. We invite internal and external speakers to present information on the session topic.
One Hour to Skill Mastery sessions are concise, one-hour virtual interactive workshops designed to focus on a specific skill, enhancing attendees’ toolkit and skills. Led by volunteer facilitators, the first half-hour is dedicated to guiding participants in learning a new skill, with the second half of the session reserved for hands-on practice. The fast-paced nature of the limited time ensures a dynamic and focused learning experience for participants.
VIBE Networking is an in-person networking opportunity at various locations from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Networking is a critical skill and practice in developing proficiency and advancing careers. This structured event offers a casual setting for staff and faculty to connect and foster the expansion of their professional networks. OECoP partners with an ASU department or college to provide the participants with drinks and appetizers at no cost.
Zoom Networking is a quarterly event that allows ASU's staff and faculty to network conveniently from their desks. Each carefully planned event features an ASU celebrity guest, allowing attendees to connect with ASU leadership on a more personal level while expanding their professional networks.
The Book Club, sponsored by the Business Analysis Community of Practice, is now part of OECoP’s offerings. A different predetermined business-related book is featured and discussed at each of the three annual sessions.
TED Circles is a quarterly gathering where participants collectively view a selected TED Talk video and engage in casual discussions about its potential application and impact within the university.
