Departments supported by Business and Finance IT should view the BFIT guidelines for buying equipment and software. They can also contact the BFIT Help Desk for all computer-related purchases. Apple systems:
The Sun Devil Marketplace is the official Apple campus retailer approved for all institutional department purchases. This location provides convenient one-stop shopping and delivery options for all ASU campuses. All departmental Apple purchases must be made through the Sun Devil Marketplace using a purchase order or university P-Card. For purchase orders, use the vendor code: Follet. Surface for Business:
The Surface for Business catalog is available in SunRISE, giving all ASU campuses an easy way to purchase Surface equipment. If you are unsure which Surface is best for your needs, contact the Microsoft Support Team for a virtual demonstration to look at the Surface lineup. With the Microsoft Complete Advanced Exchange Accidental Damage coverage on Surface, you're eligible for two device replacement claims over three years for damages like a cracked screen or liquid spill. Note: You must purchase all Surface devices with a three-year EXPSHP warranty at a minimum. There are three and four-year EXPSHP options, but three-year is the standard for ASU faculty and staff devices. Please work with your technical advisory group member if you have unique circumstances or requests.

Your unit can obtain an estimate and contract with these firms without conducting a formal solicitation. The contracts will be reviewed for renewal every mid-September until 2022.

ASU has elected to partner with Upwork to scale quickly, increase productivity, access specialized skills and stretch resources. Here are examples of skills on Upwork:
- Business process outsourcing.
- Day rate consultants.
- Individual one-time projects or an entire team to support big projects.
- Recruiting.
How it works:
- Find talent: Tell Upwork what you need. Upwork connects you with professional skills in the U.S.
- Hire talent: Get qualified proposals within 24 hours. Compare and negotiate bids, reviews and prior work with transparency. Find, interview and hire the right individual, team or agency.
- Work: Use Upwork to chat, video call, share files and track project milestones from your computer or mobile device.
- Pay: Individuals can be paid hourly or fixed prices and receive invoices through Upwork. Only pay for the work you authorize.

ASU Purchasing and Business Services issued RFP 341903 and awarded contracts to nine suppliers for Open Source Learning Technologies Development Services. Your unit can obtain an estimate and contract with these firms without conducting a formal solicitation. Awarded providers offer the following capabilities:
- Development, integration, customization and cloud-based hosting services for learning technologies that use open-source code "Learning Tool Development."
- Learning technology tools for open-source code systems and platforms and proprietary learning management systems, including Canvas and Blackboard "Learning Tools."
To help streamline the ability to contract with suppliers that provide additional staffing for UTO-supported technologies, your unit may obtain an estimate and contract without formal solicitation with firms like:
- Canvas.
- IBM Kenexa.
- Java.
- JIRA/Confluence.
- Microsoft.
- Mulesoft Enterprise Service Bus/Service Orientated Architecture and Plainview.
- PeopleSoft.
- Salesforce.
- ServiceNow.
- UAcheive.
ASU Purchasing and Business Services has issued and awarded RFP 342001 for Robotic Process Automation service. Awarded providers offer the following capabilities:
- Leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies with multiple SaaS platforms to automate and enable direct customer interaction with various university business processes.
- Provide off-shelf solutions that can integrate with ASU's systems to perform the functions identified in "a" with configuration.
Various applications that may require RPA services may include internally developed platforms and other licensed SaaS platforms.
Departments looking for RPA services can contact these providers directly for pricing and scopes of services without doing another formal RFP process. You can compare prices and select the right vendors informally, even if it is over the $100,000 threshold.
You can simply enter a requisition for one of these vendors, including the RFP. numbers and scope of work, and Purchasing and Business Services can process the purchase order. It will also be necessary to follow any security procedures.
