Form I-9
Work authorization must be completed within three business days of date of hire.
- Complete Section 1 of the Form I-9 online.
- To complete Section 2, schedule an in-person appointment and bring original copies of your acceptable documents to your scheduled appointment.
New employees outside of Arizona must follow these remote Form I-9 instructions to complete the form.
HR liaisons, supervisors and employees should continue to contact your HR business partner as needed. We will continue to update our page as we learn and assess inquiries from faculty and staff. Please continue to visit ASU COVID-19 for community updates.
Employee benefits
Visit our benefits guide for details about our comprehensive employee benefits. COVID-19 testing and telemedicine services are available at no cost to state medical plan members and their covered dependents. Visit the Arizona Department of Administration Benefits for details.
New employees should continue to enroll online when possible. Email forms regarding enrollment changes, retirement or supporting documentation from an ASU email address to HR Benefits and include [SECURE] in the subject line. Any documents mailed to our office will be collected once a week.
Continue to work with your assigned benefits partner for leaves management, retirement transactions or workers’ compensation and incident reporting. Leave a voice message including your return number if you do not reach someone. Retirement presentations will be scheduled using Zoom.
Employee Assistance Office
Services for employees will be provided by phone or HIPAA-compliant video conferencing. Call 480-965-2271 to be connected with a mental health provider or to schedule an appointment.
Employee Wellness
Employee health screenings will be suspended at this time, and wellness classes will be available online when possible. Visit our Wellness webpage for online health and wellness tips and resources.
New employee orientation
Benefits-eligible employees have three options to participate in new employee orientation. Supervisors should enroll their new hires for orientation through Career EDGE.
Professional development
Online Leadership Workforce Development workshops and other professional development courses are available in Career EDGE and LinkedIn Learning. Visit our webpage for details about our programs.
Recruitment services
The recruitment staff will continue to approve hire requests and process background checks. Fingerprint check requirements will be rescheduled and background checks will be initiated. The candidate will receive an email through Kenexa from our vendor HireRight that will start the process. There will be no additional charge to the departments for this additional background check.
Hiring managers may want to consider adding this language in offer letters: “Your current start date will be (date) and may be subject to change based on the level of health risk in the Phoenix metro area. If your start date does change, you will be contacted directly by your supervisor. Your health, safety and success are our primary focus.”
