Design Professional Services

Annual Request for Qualifications

The Annual Request for Qualifications is an open request for annual statements of qualifications and experience for Design Professional, DP/Consultant, services, including, but not limited to, Architectural, Engineering and other associated design services. Construction-related consultants may also be selected using this method. 

The 2024 ARFQ is posted on the Construction Bid Board.

Once your Statement of Qualifications is submitted:

  1. The DP/Consultant will upload their submittal and will be notified that the ASU Construction Team has received it.
  2. ASU Construction Team will evaluate the submittal for approval; if it is incomplete, the DP/Consultant will be notified.
  3. Once the submittal is approved, the DP/Consultant SOQ will be made available to ASU Design and Project Managers seeking design or engineering professionals.

Design Professional Construction Manager at Risk

Design Professional Construction Manager at Risk works on major renovation or new construction projects and may be awarded before or concurrently with the CMAR. 

ASU Supply Chain may host a pre-submittal presentation to explain the scope of services, design, timing and key elements. The selection process includes: 

  1. Initial submittal and evaluation by a selection committee.
  2. Potential firm interviews.
  3. Final selection and award.

Construction Manager at Risk

The Construction Manager at Risk works on major renovation or new construction work. 

ASU Supply Chain may host a pre-submittal presentation to explain the scope of work, the timing of the sequential or concurrent phases, and key elements. The selection process includes:

  • Initial submittal and evaluation by a selection committee.
  • Potential contractor interviews.
  • Final selection and award. 
Construction Manager at Risk documents

Design Build

Design Build is for major renovation or new construction work. 

ASU Supply Chain may host a pre-submittal presentation to explain the scope of work, the timing of the sequential or concurrent phases and key elements. The selection process includes:

  1. Initial submittal and evaluation by a selection committee.
  2. Potential contractor interviews.
  3. Final selection and award of a single contract for design and construction services. 
Design Builder documents

Job Order Contracting

Job order contracting is a competitively procured, fixed-fee, indefinite-quantity contract. It is awarded to contractors for the accomplishment of minor construction, emergency repair, rehabilitation and alteration services throughout the project. 

ASU Supply Chain and the Capital Programs Management Group representatives host a pre-submittal presentation to explain the JOC process and key elements at ASU. The selection process includes:

  1. Initial submittal and evaluation by a selection committee.
  2. Potential contractor interviews.
  3. Final selection and award to multiple contractors
2026 Job Order Contract documents

Simplified Construction Program

The Simplified Construction Program provides construction services for work valued at no more than $100,000. Statement of Qualifications will be accepted beginning April 18, 2022. Qualification packages will be valid through March 31, 2027. 

A list of pre-qualified contractors will also be posted on the Construction Bid Board. The primary purposes of the SCP Program are:

  • Provides the owner with the means to accomplish multiple projects at various ASU locations in a short time frame
  • Assures quality construction work
  • Completes each project for a reasonable and appropriate price 

An Invitation to Bid will be issued to three contractors:

  • Contractors classified as small businesses will be rotated through the Invitation to Bid process
  • Contractors classified as large businesses will only be utilized when a small business is not considered practicable
