Annual Request for Qualification

2024 Annual Request for Qualifications

The 2024 Annual Request for Qualifications (ARFQ) is an open request for annual statements of qualifications and experience for Design Professional (DP/Consultant) services for, but not limited to, Architectural, Engineering, and other associated design services. Construction related consultants may also be selected using this method. 

The 2024 ARFQ is located at Construction Bid Board

Once your Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is submitted:

  1. The Consultant will upload their submittal and be notified that the ASU Construction Team has received the submittal.
  2. ASU Construction Team will review submittal to approve; if the submittal is incomplete Consultant will be notified of the issue.
  3. Once the submittal is approved Consultant SOQ will be made available to ASU Design and Project Managers seeking design or engineering professionals.

2019 Annual Request for Qualifications

The 2019 Annual Request for Qualification is an open request for annual statements of qualifications and experience for professional design related services such as Architects and Engineers. Construction related consultants may also be selected using this method. Such consultants could include, but are not limited to, people or firms who provide soil tests, percolation tests, archeological surveys, inspections of materials, storage of materials, or cost analyses. 

The 2019 ARFQ is located at Construction Bid Board. Follow Section IV How to Submit and email Purchasing Construction with any additional questions.

Once an application is submitted:

  1. The Consultant must request an invite to the ARFQ.
  2. The Consultant will upload their submittal and be notified that the ASU Construction Team has received the submittal.
  3. ASU Construction Team will review submittal to approve; if the submittal is incomplete Consultant will be notified of the issue.
  4. Once the submittal is approved Consultant data will be made available to ASU Design and Project Managers seeking design or engineering professionals.

Construction Manager

Construction Manager at Risk helps with major renovation or new construction work. These opportunities appear on the Construction Bid Board.

A pre-submittal presentation is hosted by the ASU Design Manager and ASU Construction Project Manager to explain the scope of work, timing of either sequential or concurrent phases, and key elements

The selection process includes:

  1. Initial submittal and review by a selection committee.
  2. Potential contractor interviews.
  3. Final selection and award of a single contract for design and construction services.

Design Build

Design Build is for major renovation or new construction work. These opportunities are available on the Construction Bid Board.

A pre-submittal presentation is hosted by the ASU Design Manager and ASU Construction Project Manager to explain the scope of work, timing of either sequential or concurrent phases, and key elements.

The selection process includes:

  1. Initial submittal and review by a selection committee.
  2. Potential contractor interviews.
  3. Final selection and award of a single contract for design and construction services.

Design Professional Construction Manager

Design Professional Construction Manager at Risk works with major renovation or new construction work and may be awarded before, or concurrently, with the CMAR. These appear on the Construction Bid Board.

A pre-submittal presentation is hosted by the ASU Design Manager to explain the scope of services, design, timing and key elements.

The selection process includes:

  1. Initial submittal and review by a selection committee.
  2. Potential firm interviews.
  3. Final selection and award.

Job Order Contracting

Job order contracting is competitively procured, fixed-fee indefinite-quantity contract. It is awarded to contractors for the accomplishment of minor construction, emergency repair, rehabilitation, and alteration services for the duration of the project. Request for Qualification opportunities are available on the Construction Bid Board.

A pre-submittal presentation is hosted by ASU Construction Project Management to explain the process and key elements of JOC work at ASU.

The selection process includes:

  1. Initial submittal and review by a selection committee.
  2. Potential contractor interviews.
  3. Final selection and award to multiple contractors.

2022 Job Order Contract Documents

Simplified Construction Program 

The Simplified Construction Program is construction services on work not to exceed $100,000. Statement of Qualifications will be accepted beginning April 18, 2022. Qualification packages will be valid through March 31, 2027. See the Construction Bid Board for instructions on how to submit your qualifications.

A list of pre-qualified contractors will also be posted on the Construction Bid Board.

The primary purposes of the SCP Program are:

  • To provide Owner with the means to accomplish multiple projects at various ASU locations in a short time frame.
  • To assure quality construction work.
  • To complete each project for a reasonable and appropriate price.

An Invitation to Bid will be issued to three (3) Contractors

  • Contractors classified as small businesses will be rotated through the Invitation to Bid process.
  • Contractors classified as large businesses will only be utilized when a small business is not considered practicable.
