Maximum benefit periodUntil age 65 or until you are able to return to work after your disability is determined by Broadspire.Determined by your age at time disability occurs.
Monthly benefit
  • Minimum monthly benefit of $50 as long as your monthly income from LTD and other income sources do not exceed 100% of your monthly compensation at the time disability commences.
  • Pays 66 ⅔% of base pay as of the date of disability, reduced by deductible income.
  • Maximum $10,000 before reduction by deductible income.
  • Minimum monthly benefit of $100 or 10% of your LTD benefit before reduction by deductible income, whichever is greater.
  • Pays 66 ⅔% of the first $14,999 of pre-disability earnings, subject to deductible income.
Benefits start date
  • Begins on day 181 of continuous disability.
  • Benefit is paid monthly as long as the participant continues to meet eligibility.
  • 50% of the claim payment is taxable.
  • Begins on day 181 of continuous disability.
  • Benefit is paid monthly.
  • Claim payments are fully taxable.
Pre-existing condition exclusion
  • Most recent membership date prior to July 1, 2008: three-month pre-existing condition limitation.
  • Most recent membership date on or after July 1, 2008: six-month pre-existing condition limitation.

Recurring disability benefitsPeriods of disability due to the same cause count as one period, unless separated by six months or more of full-time active work.

  • Returned to active work for a period of 60 days or less, prior to completing the elimination period.
