Are you looking to develop, connect and achieve your goals?
The SUNlite Coaching Program helps ASU employees build self-awareness, strengthen leadership skills, and work through goals and challenges that matter to them through peer-to-peer coaching.
SUNlite supports a culture of continuous growth and interconnectedness within the ASU community. The program’s vision is to broaden access to coaching so ASU employees can reach their full potential and support others in doing the same. The program is guided by core values of respect and compassion.
What is coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative process that helps you clarify goals and take action.
It’s not advising or mentoring. Instead, it creates space to think, reflect and make intentional choices. In a coaching conversation, you will:
- Explore what matters most to you.
- Gain new perspectives.
- Identify options and next steps.
Take action with clarity and confidence.
You don’t need to have a problem to benefit from coaching — it can also help you prepare for opportunities, strengthen what’s already working and be more intentional about your development.
Coaching creates space to pause, reflect and see new possibilities. Coaching might be right for you if you want to:
- Work through a challenge or opportunity.
- Clarify a decision or next step.
- Strengthen your leadership skills.
- Explore what’s next in your role or career.
- Prepare for something important.
- Stay accountable to a goal you care about.

The SUNlite coaching impact
Since launching in 2023, SUNlite has supported more than 100 employees and trained over 70 coaches from 30+ departments across ASU.
Participants often describe coaching as a dedicated space to think more clearly and make progress on what’s important. SUNlite participants report increased confidence in setting goals, a stronger sense of connection to the ASU community and a willingness to recommend the program.
Coaches also share that the experience strengthens their listening, communication and leadership skills while deepening relationships across the university. Together, these experiences contribute not only to individual growth but to a more inclusive and supportive ASU community.
