Student loan assistance program

Student loan assistance program information for ASU employees

ASU employees may be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF program forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after making a set amount of payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.

Another resource to provide loan assistance is with Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association. ASU collaborates with TIAA and Savi to assist all employees with student loan repayment plans through the federal PSLF program. The program aims at reducing student loan debt for people who work in public service.

You do not need to be a TIAA participant to use this service. Savi will provide objective and reliable advice to help employees manage federal and private student debt, including loans taken out for dependents. They can assist employees with the following topics:

  • Find available benefits or programs.
  • Help employees applying for federal loan repayment and forgiveness programs.
  • Provide information about lowering interest rates, consolidating loans or reducing payments.

Use the Savi calculator to see what programs meet your needs and to get started in the program. Visit the frequently asked questions webpage for details more about this program.

A concierge service is available to complete and manage the paperwork for the program’s duration. This service helps borrowers avoid errors and stay in compliance with strict rules. The annual fee is $60 for this optional administrative service. You will receive a yearly notification to renew or cancel your service.

Call Savi at 1-833-945-0654 weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mountain Standard Time for inquiries.
