Short-term disability plan
A short-term disability insurance plan provides income replacement for up to six months if you are out of work for a non-occupational accident or illness. You have two options for coverage, and although this is a voluntary benefit, you must elect within 30 calendar days of your eligibility-hire date, a qualified life event or during the annual open enrollment period.

Coordination of Benefits |
| Benefit payment is reduced by 100% of any paid leave benefit after the elimination period. As a result, you may receive only the $67.31 minimum benefit under the MetLife plan. |

Pre-existing condition exclusion | A pre-existing condition is not covered the first six months after the initial election or after the option level increase. Long-term disability insurance program
A group long-term disability insurance plan provides income replacement if you are out of work for a nonoccupational or occupational accident or illness for more than six months. Your LTD coverage is included with your mandatory retirement plan: ASRS, ORP or PSPRS.
