Supporting student development in Tempe

Mill Avenue student housing

Building Information

This seven-story building with approximately 828 residence hall beds as well as dining, classroom and office spaces and indoor-outdoor common areas is anticipated to house undergraduate students enrolled in the Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts on ASU’s Tempe campus.

The location — between Mill and Myrtle avenues, and 9th and 10th streets — is central to Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts-related facilities, including Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium, Nelson Fine Arts Center, Stauffer Communication Arts, the School of Music, Dance and Theatre and the Design School.

The residence hall will have 760 beds that provide double occupancy two-bedroom, two-bathroom units and the remainder will be a blend of single occupancy two-bedroom, two-bathroom units.

ASU continues its collaboration with American Campus Communities as a student housing development partner. ACC manages over 50 percent of ASU’s beds across all campuses which equates to over 8,200 beds built and under construction.

The project is expected to meet ASU sustainability goals by achieving LEED Silver certification.
