Reducing ASU’s carbon footprint through EV purchases

In September 2025, ASU secured $232,500 in federal incentives to accelerate the transition to an electric fleet across its campuses. The funding will help the university replace 10% of its vehicle fleet with electric models. This will reduce transportation-related fossil fuel use by approximately 10% and avoid 75 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Many vehicles that will be replaced are the most frequently used on campus, which will significantly reduce emissions.

H Wing renovation

This project will renovate the Bateman Physical Sciences Center H wing, originally constructed in 1991, to meet the current and future demands of the university’s academic and research programs. The project scope includes the comprehensive renovation of the existing wet and dry laboratories for research and instruction, classrooms, and office spaces, while maintaining the same general space types within the building.

Building Information

This project will construct a 175,000 gross-square-foot, multi-level facility, developed in partnership with the City of Phoenix, that will serve as headquarters for ASU Health.

The facility will be located between Fillmore and Pierce Streets to the north and south, and Fourth and Fifth Streets to the east and west within the Phoenix Bioscience Core, a cluster of industry leaders spearheading research on the world’s most important health science discoveries.

Building Information

Arizona State University is enhancing the Polytechnic campus experience through a major expansion and renovation of the Student Union — creating a more dynamic hub for connection, collaboration and community.

The project includes renovation of the existing 32,649-square-foot building and construction of an approximately 68,000-square-foot expansion to the east. The rejuvenated complex will include the following features to support students and staff.
