EV charging

Charging made easy

Arizona State University is proud to support sustainable transportation by offering EV charging stations across four Valley campuses. These stations are part of our commitment to reducing carbon emissions, promoting clean energy and empowering the transition to vehicle electrification for students, staff and visitors.

Using EV charging stations

ASU offers more than 120 electric vehicle charging ports. You may purchase EV charging up to 30 days in advance. To pay for charging, please follow these steps:

  1. Access the ASU transportation portal and

    select EV Charging Permit

  2. Select the $2 one-day pass for unlimited charging until midnight
  3. Log in to your transportation account and select the $20 one-month pass for unlimited charging at any ASU campus EV charging station.

ASU department vehicles

ASU departments with EVs and valid parking permits may use EV charging stations at no cost while their vehicles are actively charging. Charging stations are not reserved for departmental use. Departments must move vehicles once they are fully charged to allow others to use the charging station.

Charging ports and adaptors

The charging stations are equipped with a North American Charging Standard — NACS — SAE J3400 plug and a built-in SAE J1772 adaptor.
