The ASU Police Department received a report of a sexual assault which occurred on November 2, 2024 in the early morning hours at 975 S. Rural Road on the Tempe campus. The victim, who is not affiliated with the university, said a male she met at an off-campus party may have drugged her by slipping something in her drink. The victim woke up later on campus and believes she was sexually assaulted. This case is under investigation.

On October 28, 2024, the ASU Police Department received a report of a completed Motor Vehicle theft and two additional reports of attempted thefts that occurred at Taylor Street Parking Structure located at 475 N. 2nd Street Phoenix. 

A 2019 Kia Optima was stolen sometime between Oct. 27 and Oct. 28. On those same days, unknown suspect(s) tore the door handle off a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, and also tore a door handle, broke the quarter panel and destroyed the steering column on a 2019 Hyundai Elantra, indicating potential theft attempts.

On September 20, 2024, the ASU Police Department received a report of a completed motor vehicle theft and an additional report of an attempted theft that occurred at Taylor Street Parking Structure located at 475 N. 2nd Street, Phoenix. 

In both cases, the suspect(s) broke a window to get inside the vehicles. Both vehicles were Hyundai Elantras 2016. 

ASU Police are increasing patrols of the area. Officers recommend all drivers always verify their vehicles are locked before walking away, and if available, take other precautions, such as activating anti-theft alarms, using steering wheel locks...


On September 12, 2024, the ASU Police Department received a report of a Sexual Assault which occurred on the evening of September 11, 2024 at a residential housing complex located on the south side of the Tempe campus. The suspect was in the victim's room with others. After the others left, the suspect assaulted the victim.

On August 21, 2024, the ASU Police Department received two reports of electric scooter thefts on the Tempe campus. The thefts occurred from bike racks located on E. University Drive.

ASU Police urges the university community, regardless of campus, to take necessary actions to secure personal property, such as e-scooters, bicycles, skateboards, etc. Use of high quality U-locks is recommended for e-scooters and bicycles.

The ASU Police Department has received two reports of stolen vehicles from 200 S. Packard Drive (Lot 59) on Tempe campus. The first vehicle was reported stolen at approximately 9:42 a.m. and the second at about 5:52 p.m., today, Aug. 7, 2024.  ASU Police is increasing patrols and extra security in the area. Officers recommend all drivers verify all vehicles are locked and additional precautions taken if available, such as using burglar alarms, steering wheel locks, etc.

On July 30, 2024, the ASU Police Department received a delayed report of a Sexual Assault which occurred on the evening of July 24, 2024 at 975 S. Rural Road on the Tempe campus.

On March 29, 2024, ASU Police received a report of a Robbery that occurred earlier this week around 8:10 a.m. in the area of 400 E. Tyler Mall. The victim was walking between the Life Science E wing and Life Science C wing when an unknown person approached the victim, pulled out a knife, and demanded the victim’s backpack. The victim sprayed the suspect with pepper spray and ran. The victim is a contracted employee working on campus.
