Child and adult day care FSA
Get reimbursed for employment-related child and elder daycare expenses
A child or adult care FSA allows you to be reimbursed through the claims process for employment-related child and elder daycare expenses. Only the current balance is available for reimbursement.
Benefits-eligible employees may contribute up to $5,000 per household on a pre-tax basis during their period of participation in the calendar year. Starting in 2026, the contribution limit will increase to $7,500.
Refer to the enrollment and eligibility webpage for details about coverage effective dates. This plan covers your eligible child or adult daycare expenses necessary to allow you and your spouse, if married, to work, look for work or attend school full-time.
Eligible dependents
- Children under the age of 13 who share the same residence with you.
- Your spouse, qualifying child or relative who is physically or mentally unable to care for themselves, who shares the same residence with you and has income less than the federal exemption amount.
This plan may reimburse you for expenses like daycare facilities and preschools. The provider’s tax ID or social security number is required. This plan cannot be used to pay your dependents' non-reimbursed medical expenses. Visit the FSA webpage for additional details regarding coverage for medical expenses.

Unused funds do not roll over from year to year. Estimate your expenses carefully. Claims must be submitted by April 30 each year for eligible expenses incurred in the previous year. Visit the ASIFlex for details on eligible expenses. A new annual election is required each year during open enrollment for the next calendar plan year.
