Weapons on campus
ASU students and employees must report violations and suspected violations of the policy to ASU Police immediately.
Having a concealed weapons permit does not exclude anyone from the policy. Only certified police officers performing their official duties may carry --openly or concealed--a weapon on university grounds.
Prohibited weapons
A weapon is any object or substance designed to inflict a wound, cause an injury, incapacitate or cause death, including, without limitation:
- All firearms; loaded or unloaded, real or simulated.
- Bows and arrows.
- Chemicals.
- Devices designed to expel a projectile, such as an air gun, BB gun, pellet gun or potato gun.
- Knives with blades five inches or longer.
- Martial arts weapons.
- Swords.
Personal safety devices are not included in the definition of a weapon.
ASU's prohibition and restrictions on the use of weapons are covered under ASU's policy, PDP 201-05; AZ Regents policy, Prohibited Conduct; and AZ Regents policy, Student Code of Conduct.
