History
Constructed in 1908 as a part of the Tempe Normal School, the University Club is the second oldest building on campus. Originally named Science Hall, the building was the second structure in the original “Quad” situated with Old Main around a central fountain feature. The building sits in what is now designated as the “Historic District” of the university.
In 1949, the Science Hall experienced a major remodel and changed to a fine arts facility named the Fine Arts Annex. In 1985, ASU made the building home to the University Club.
