Workday is ASU’s all-in-one finance, human resources and payroll system, launching Dec. 23, 2024.
The dates below indicate when employees must complete specific actions and tasks before Workday goes live.
Employees and Department HR Representatives should also review the full list of critical dates and actions for currently used systems.

Last day to review and make changes to your employee information, such as benefit enrollment, payroll deductions, direct deposits, dependents, beneficiaries, etc.
Dec. 13, 2024
Hourly employees: Last day to submit all time worked through Dec. 22, 2024, and all time off through Jan. 5, 2025.
Salaried employees: Last day to submit all time off through Jan. 5, 2025.
Dec. 17, 2024
Managers must approve all time worked and time off requests submitted by employees.
Last day to update payroll and employee information. All changes after this date must be made in Workday when it launches.
Last day to complete and submit 2024 EDGE Conversations.
Deadline to complete any mandatory training in Career EDGE.
Dec. 23, 2024
Workday HCM goes live.

Jan. 5, 2025
Employees review their personal and work-related information in Workday to verify accuracy.

Please perform specific HR-related transactions using the timeline below.

Through Nov. 12, 2024
Green phase: Plan all HR-related transactions through the remainder of the year with effective dates up to Jan. 5, 2025. Process the related transactions before Nov. 12, 2024.
Nov. 12 to Dec. 17, 2024
Yellow phase: Only process critical, pay-impacting transactions from Nov. 12 to Dec. 17. Discretionary changes — such as promotions and pay rate changes — should only be done after Workday goes live.
Examples of of critical, pay-impacting changes:
- FTE changes.
- Hires.
- Terminations.
5 p.m. Dec. 17, 2024
Red phase: No transactions are allowed in legacy HR systems beginning at 5 p.m. Dec. 17.
Systems Workday will replace
- BrassRing.
- Career EDGE.
- EDGE Conversations.
- PeopleSoft HCM.
- Read-only access to PeopleSoft and some of its functions will be available for a yet-determined amount of time after Workday goes live.
- Time and Attendance Support.
- SubItUp.
