HCM system development enters new phase

The Human Capital Management Workday Innovation Implementation project team has completed the initiative’s “readiness and plan” phase. Over the last several months, team members created plans and strategies to implement the university’s new human capital management and payroll system, expected to launch in early 2025.

Next steps

In May 2023, project team members begin the “architect and configure” phase as they work on the system’s iterative design and configuration.

HCMWI team members will meet with ASU departments and partners — such as Fidelity and the Arizona State Retirement System — to understand their needs and work with them to build a new system that’s responsive, user-friendly and best serves the ASU community. They will also create training plans and technical designs for integrations, reports and data conversions.

The completed Workday HCM system will provide enhanced, user-friendly, adaptable features that offer mobile capability. Workday HCM will eventually replace PeopleSoft HCM and reduce reliance on other enterprise applications.
