Open Enrollment

Welcome to ASU’s benefits open enrollment period. Enrollment is now open until 5 p.m., Nov. 8, 2024. Open enrollment is your opportunity to change your benefits coverage, enroll or continue a flexible spending account or review and designate life insurance beneficiaries. Attend the annual Benefits Expo, a virtual information session or a provider webinar to learn about your options.

The Office of Human Resources is hosting a Benefits Expo and virtual information sessions to review the 2025 benefit plans throughout the enrollment period. The team will discuss medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance plans.

Providers and partners will host virtual webinars on specific benefits-related topics. There will also be provider and vendor webinars featuring the Arizona Department of Administration, Fidelity, Norton LifeLock Benefits Solutions, TIAA and more.

Plan updates and changes

Benefits plans are reviewed annually to ensure ASU employees have access to comprehensive benefits packages at competitive rates to enhance the total compensation of its faculty and staff. Despite rising healthcare costs, employee co-pays and premiums will not increase for 2025 and co-pays. 

Vision plans 

Premiums for the Avesis Advantage Program are increasing for 2025. 

  • Employee only: $1.75. 
  • Employee and spouse: $5.83. 
  • Employee and one child: $5.75. 
  • Employee and family: $7.27.
High Deductible Health Plan

Deductibles for the High Deductible Health Plan are increasing for the 2025 plan year. Single: $1,650, all other levels: $3,300.

Health Savings Account Maximum Contributions

Maximum contribution limits for the HSA are increasing for the 2025 plan year. The employee contribution limit for employee-only coverage will increase to $3,580; the employee contribution limit for all other levels will increase to $7,110.

Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Flexible spending account contributions must be re-elected each year. If you have an annual flexible spending account, enrollment is required for the 2025 plan year. 
  • Annual contribution limit is $3,200 for the healthcare FSA and Limited health care FSA.
  • Maximum carryover amount of $640 for the healthcare FSA and Limited health care FSA.
  • Minimum annual contribution amount of $100 for all flexible spending plans.
