Grounds Maintenance strives to maintain and service an aesthetically pleasing environment that reflects desert beauty and inspiration that is safe for all of those that attend, live, work and visit our campuses. The Tempe campus participates on a daily basis in all four goals of Arizona State University’s Strategic Plan for Sustainability Practices and Operations.
We also look to employ new and innovative horticulture techniques with regards to sustainability principles and practices facilitating and enhancing our ecologically focused urban horticulture, thus setting us apart from others as an example to follow and leading others in the field.

Tempe Campus
For general inquiries regarding ongoing work or cost estimates, please contact our Facilities Management, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 480-965-3633.
Polytechnic campus
Campus grounds are maintained through contracted services administered by the Facilities Management.

West Valley campus
The Grounds Services team is responsible to the campus community for a beautifully groomed and safe environment consisting of desert plants, trees and shrubbery, grass, and flower beds on 300 acres, of which approximately 80 acres are cultivated. The team is dedicated to providing cost effective landscaping services and water conservation. On campus there are 2 wells which provide the water to maintain the plants. The water is pumped from the wells to a 100,000 gallon underground storage tank. Through the Maxicom 2 computer system, the water is pumped from the storage tank to the plants.
Services Provided
The Grounds team is committed to providing a beautiful atmosphere conducive to learning and doing so in the most efficient and environmentally-friendly way.
The services provided by the Grounds team are the maintenance of lawn areas, flower beds, shrubs, trees and granite areas. We also provide outdoor weed and pest control, parking lot trash pick up, street sweeping, sidewalk and mall cleanup, and cleaning and striping of sports facilities.
Service Request
If you notice broken tree branches, water irrigation leaks, bees or wasps please email, or call 480-965-3633. All other Grounds activities are performed on a routine basis.
Event scheduling and requests for use of the soccer, racquetball, volleyball, and basketball courts and the multi-purpose fields and courtyards should be made by email.
