ID Card

Welcome to ASU Sun Devil Card Services

ASU requires all students, employees and qualifying university affiliates to obtain an official ASU ID. Except for eligible new employees, the ASU ID is issued for a fee of $25. Online students must have an approved photo on file with Sun Devil Card Services.

Fall 2024: ASU is transitioning to Mobile ID

Sun Devil Card Services is launching the ASU Mobile ID as the official university identification to improve security and convenience. Students, faculty and staff can use the ASU Mobile ID everywhere they use a physical ID.

Please review the ASU ID and Photo Requirement Policy. Your ASU ID can be used for the following:

  • Official ASU student, faculty and staff ID.
  • Access to academic advising.
  • Access to secure buildings.
  • Access to library material checkouts. 
  • Access to meal plans.*
  • Access to Maroon and Gold Dollars.*
  • Student access to Sun Devil Fitness Complexes.
    • Employees can join for a low monthly fee or access one-time services.

ASU Mobile ID

Arizona State University is bringing ASU Mobile ID to the ASU Mobile App as the official university identification. With this feature, students, faculty and staff can use their Apple or Android devices to access buildings, attend campus events, utilize campus services and make payments anywhere Maroon and Gold dollars are accepted.

Mobile ID requirements

Students and employees must meet the following requirements to receive a Mobile ID:

Phone requirements

  • Apple:
    • An Apple ID and signed into iCloud.
    • iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus or later — running iOS 13 or later.
    • Apple Watch Series 1 or later — running the latest version of watchOS.
  •  Android: Android version running 6.0 or later.

Request and set up Mobile ID ​

Follow these steps to request and set up your ASU Mobile ID:

  1. Upload your photo.
  2. Download the ASU Mobile App and install DUO Mobile on your device.
  3. After your photo has been approved, you’ll receive directions via email on how to enable your ASU Mobile ID through the ASU Mobile App.

Non-compatible devices for ASU Mobile ID

If you believe you do not have a compatible device for ASU Mobile ID, please submit an exemption request form for review. If approved, you’ll be issued a physical ASU ID Card.

ASU Online students

Online students must have an approved photo on file and have the option to purchase an ASU ID Card with a digital copy in the ASU Mobile App. Once your photo is approved, you will receive directions on how to have your card mailed to you.

 

Fees

  • There is a $25 fee for a physical ASU ID card or an ASU Mobile ID. No fee is required for defective cards or retired employees or emeritus staff.
  • Benefits-eligible employees: Your first ID fee is waived. The ID serves as employee identification and provides door access where needed.
  • Foundation employees, military faculty and religious affiliates: Your first ID card fee is waived.
  • Stolen cards: The $25 ID card fee may be waived if the cardholder presents Sun Devil Card Services staff with a valid police report at the time of the new card request. Reports will not be accepted after a replacement card has been printed.

A lost or stolen card must be reported immediately.
