ASU begins work on new HCM system

Arizona State University officially begins a two-year project to execute a new human capital management system to improve its current business operations and address future needs.

The Human Capital Management Workday Innovation Implementation project begins work next month to revamp HR business processes and implement a new HCM and payroll system — Workday HR. The new system is expected to be live in early 2025 and will provide users with more features and reduce complexities.

Workday benefits

  • Efficient, one-source operation system.
  • More adaptable and mobile for fast-changing university needs.
  • Real-time insights and data for decision-making.

Over the next two years, the implementation project team will design, configure and test the new system. The team will collaborate with ASU departments to integrate their operations and provide system training.

Workday HR will eventually eliminate PeopleSoft HR and reduce reliance on other enterprise applications.

ASU and The Arizona Board of Regents approved Workday as the new HCM provider last year after reviewing the university’s current system and potential vendors.
